Let us tell you about our Best Friends…….

Friends of HorseThief is a volunteer group dedicated to the improvement of HorseThief Reservoir. Our mission statement defines us as a non-profit group organized for the purpose of assisting in the development and implementation of recreational improvements and educational programs at HorseThief Reservoir. We are dedicated to participating in or organizing activities specifically tailored to meet our goals. Those goals include; raising funds to purchase equipment, habitat, and entertainment that would encourage campers to stay in the park. Examples include, rentable life jackets, contributions to lake improvements, and providing entertainment.

Through the years activities to help us reach our goals have included:

A Children’s Bike Rodeo 3 years running. This has included the donation of over 160 helmets to the young participants.

Other 4^th of July entertainment

A Chili Cook-off 3 years running

The purchase and assembly of 20 park picnic tables.

Donation to other outdoor programs that bring education to youth and adults provided at the Reservoir.

Volunteer hours to other youth programs provided by NWTF

Wild West  Zombie Paintball 4 years running.

Hamburger and BBQ Feeds

Feed our Troops after their Military Maneuvers

Approximately 2,100 hours of volunteer work thanks to the tireless effort of our volunteers!!
