OFFICE ADMINISTRATOR

This full-time position is located at HorseThief Reservoir and works under the direction of and is supervised by the Park Manager.

The position is responsible for daily office operations including answering the phones and emails; managing the front desk; all sales, reservations, and reporting involved with the online reservation system; assists manager in accounting procedures associated with park financials including basic QuickBooks entry; provide information to the general public regarding park rules, regulations, and history; manage social media accounts and other general marketing tasks as requested; assist with miscellaneous park duties as needed such as housekeeping; completes special projects as assigned; and other duties required.

BENEFITS:  This is a hourly position starting at $17-19 with the opportunity for overtime. Starting wage can vary depending on education, experience, or qualifications based on management and board review; group health and life  insurance, KPERS Retirement, Eagle Air Med Membership, paid training/certifications, sick/vacation/holiday pay, flexible off-season schedule, annual park permits, and a scenic work environment.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:  Two years of experience in general office, clerical and administrative support work. Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the management and board. Applicant with the ability to effectively interface with general public and employees is highly desired. The successful candidate must pass a background check.

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:  Applicants that have general marketing experience and/or are computer proficient with Microsoft Office, QuickBooks, and web-based computer applications are preferred. Assists the public, including answering inquiries, explaining and enforcing rules and regulations where knowledgeable and pertinent. Always maintain an excellent reputation to be a credible witness and be able to credibly testify in court. Posses or obtain a valid Kansas driver’s license.  Ability to speak in public, give correct information to the media and project a positive attitude at all times toward the public and employees.  Must work peak season holidays, and weekends during summer season.  Must maintain professional appearance and attitude at all times, even if recreating with in the park, one must maintain professionalism and represent HTR in a positive manner.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:  Must take and pass a drug screening test.  The selected candidate is subject to random testing for alcohol and controlled substances following employment. As a condition of employment, the selected candidate will be required to live within a 25-minute radius from the park.
